The Breath of Zekr
by Abdur Rahman
Peace, one and all…

Insha Allah, I want to add more guest poets in the coming weeks, as there’s so much great stuff around. To that end, here’s an outstanding effort from our most worthy brother Irving Karchmar (aka Darvish), poet and author of Master of the Jinn.
This poem is called The Breath of Zekr. You can find the original post here. Sit back, relax and let the breath of zekr lift you towards heaven.
The Breath of Zekr
The breath of zekr inhales love
and exhales kindness
The heartbeat keeps time
to the rhythm of intention
Steady the breath with silence
and good works
Listen to the heart beat
La illa ha illa Allah!
O seeker, the traveler on this path
takes no provisions but love
(Irving Karchmar, 2006)
