We Move at Speed…

Peace, one and all…

Welcome to the Corner Reloaded once more.  As I said above, this is a home for my more experimental poetry (and hopefully other writings too).  Enjoy….!

‘We move at speed,
as the naat plays on.
A tree-lined road invites us forward,
stretching out into infinity.
Hills fall away beside us,
revealing hidden valleys
and quiet fields laid out in rows
straight and neat.
Scattered houses cling to the valley walls,
as a babe clings to its mother’s breast.
Small woods,
remnants of the Ancient Forest,
decorate these hills as a crown
honours a King.
Still the naat plays on.
Though its meaning escapes me,
I feel opened
to the beauty around me.
Trees young and old line the path before us,
as horses and sheep seek their own
daily bread.
Birds caress the air above,
offering their own wordless reminder,
as if one were needed,
that forces Unseen are at work.
Concentrate and the vision fades.
Open
and my eye remains clear:
Nature’s embrace is God’s loving gift.

Ma’as salama,
Abdur Rahman
